Volkswagen of America said it has started saleable production of its ID4 EV crossover at its assembly complex in Chattanooga, Tenn., and expects to be producing up to 7,000 of them per month there by the fourth quarter.

The first Volkswagen ID.4 vehicles made in Chattanooga, Tennessee will be delivered as early as October 2022.

The conditional loan for GM and LG's battery JV will come from the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing (ATVM) program.
